As an Empowerment Health Coach and Mother of two young women, I know how hard it is to keep a full schedule and work on your own health. The why behind my journey started out with my own health issues and turned into wanting to be a good role model for my girls and other women who are struggling like I was. I now provide personal health and wellness coaching specializing in healthy food habits, physical fitness, gut health, mental health and reduction of depression and anxiety. I am an Integrative Health Practitioner and educated in Neuro Linguistic Programming.
It wasn’t always that way…
From a young age I struggled with bloating and stomach pain. After my second child I was diagnosed with Hashimoto Hypothyroidism. My doctors said that nutrition would never fix my issues and that I would have to learn to live with my autoimmune disease. I began to use my thyroid as an excuse and began to over exercise hoping that would help me like my body. I felt like no one ever understood my mood swings, anxiety, lack of energy, loss of sleep, low libido, stress, and depression. My doctors would say that I was in the right range for my thyroid with my medication and yet I would gain weight and feel tired all the time. So why was I still sick?
It wasn’t until…
I sat in my doctor’s office, and she said that I was lucky, my tumor was not cancerous. I knew from that moment on I needed to do something. If I could figure out the root cause of what was making me sick, then I could heal my whole body. I had tried every new diet out there and nothing seemed to be working. My favorite saying was, "I will start again on Monday." Monday came and I still never felt good.
When I started studying as an Integrative Health Practitioner and working on my own health issues, I began to see that it all started in my gut. I use to laugh and think that was just another fad. Today I now specialize in the thing that made me laugh. It has taken me from being sick and unhealthy to living a life I love. I am now on a mission to help women suffering from dysfunctional food habits, put themselves first, by creating a plan specific to their whole-body health and wellness.
